The Emotional Connection to Beautiful Skin
An emotion is a feeling we express through actions. The whole body reacts towards this, for instance when we are angry our facial expressions quickly change and we react with all the negative energy towards people. It turns out that there’s a strong connection between mind and skin, early research indicates that how we feel can affect how our skin looks and acts, and even deeper factor into what sort of skin conditions we may suffer from. When we’re always having negative energy in our system there is a direct impact to our mind too, this will subsequently affect the emotional levels and affect skin as well. When we are happy our skin also glows this is because our internal happiness affects it. This is a natural process. In life too if we think positively good things will happen and if we think negatively bad things will happen. It all depends on the way we look and analyse the situation.
When we are happy mentally, both our inner and outer appearance will change, then it will automatically grab all the positive energy from the universe. If you are not happy and think you’re not beautiful enough, then all those fairness creams and lotions and moisturizers won’t help when our feelings are written all over your face. Stress, over thinking and unhappiness can play a huge role in your skin’s health and appearance. As a result of the above mentioned factors, it will be seen through you, mainly the face as your underlying emotions could be causing your biggest complexion concerns.
And what do our emotions have to do with our skin and how does it affect it? In my opinion, its everything! Our skin can easily give away what’s going on in our hearts and minds. Skin is our largest and most visible organ therefore we often notice the effects of our feelings in our skin before anywhere else. You need to be aware of certain our factors that will affect your skin due to the emotions such as acne, eczema, inflammation, and infection as well. Having constant negativity and negative emotions can age you. The heart aches and pain you go through and experience as a result of stress can also be reflected in your face. The only cure for this is mental relief, only you can help yourself. Well there are few external factors which can contribute towards your inner beauty which will be reflected through your skin. These factors are nothing but the simple things we do during our day today activities such as cleanliness, meditation, positivity towards everything, and peace of mind, also most importantly kindness and generosity towards other things which are in control of you and beyond your control. Lack of sleep also causes skin darkening especially dark circles under your eyes.
Emotions do manifest a lot in our skin issues. So whatever the emotions you go through deal and handle it with care as it will affect your entire system. We’re in charge of our own skin, health and beauty. Psychology has gone a long way to prove that meditation and people who always smile and are happy are beautiful souls both in and out. This will automatically turn your entire body into radiant skin.
Our skin is affected by many factors, including our environment, health, the food we eat and many more. If we take a sneak peak at the research statistics on how the negative emotions can show up as mind and skin troubles. In a 2014 review it was concluded that researchers examined studies on the “brain-skin connection”, and found that stress including mental, physical, and emotional pressure definitely affects skin. When you’re under stress; you release hormones that encourage inflammation and decrease blood flow to the skin. The nerves in the skin become irritated, and may increase inflammation and decrease blood flow to the skin.
Stress, anger, depression, fear and embarrassment are some of the fundamental emotions that we go through every day. Always, when life gives you lemons make sure to squeeze it back on its own eyes. Happy times and sad times are a part and partial in life. We should have the courage to accept all challenges which it throws at us. If we let our moods affect us adversely this will have a definite impact on our skin. Long lasting mood swings have much longer lasting and irreversible effects on our skin. Similarly, good and happy mood has some positive beauty benefits for your skin.
You’ve heard that stress is bad for your heart and your health overall. Now we know that it can also wreak havoc on your skin. Harvard Women’s Health Watch has found that “the bond between skin and mind has deep roots”. The connection is thought to be so solid that there’s a name for the field “psychodermatology”. Also many dermatologists have found that people can who can go to see the doctor for a skin condition often have a related psychological problem that is related to the skin issue, and that can, at times, make it difficult for standards treatments to work.
When you have a beautiful mind and a pure heart, trust me life will be so beautiful. Worry has become one of the main reasons for mood swings which will cause stress. We all get angry and mad with people and certain people and things which are beyond our control. It’s easy for somebody to say take things easy when you know the hassle of going through it. All we have to remember is everything that happens now is temporary, every wound heals with time. If we get angry and let the problem eat our system our mind will be filled with pessimism which will have an adverse effect on skin, since our emotions are connected with the mind and skin.
Everyone is different may suffer from different skin conditions in response to their emotions, but there are some emotions that are often linked to specific skin reactions. When you experience these emotions, for instance, if you have extreme anger or anxiety, skin reaction will be such as hives, allergic reaction, itching, and inflammation. When you’re having extreme stress, skin reactions will be such as acne, eczema or psoriasis flare-up. The key is to do your level best to balance both your emotions/stress and your skin and routine. Stay consistent with your skin care routine. Though this may sound difficult when you’re stressed or overworked, staying consistent with your skin care routine will help your skin to better resist any emotional effects.
The psychological factors are not only the ones which affect the skin, but cleanliness plays a vital role too. Being clean is essential to keep it radiant and glowing. Try to wash, tone and moisturize and night. Studies have found out that mindfulness-based techniques like meditation and yoga can help bring your stress levels down. These activities can also help you weather those stressful times more effectively, with fewer complications showing up on your skin.
Always smile, smile is the best therapy for all pains and heart aches. Love can conquer everything, but we need to let it flow into our lives. We humans worry for the simplest things in life, rather than worrying and stressing over the situation we should move on with the journey of life just as the river flows through the rocks.
